Bumpy Pendant
Haoying Zhang
Gourd, Lamp Parts
These lamps are made from a single naturally cured gourd found at a gourd farm in Maryland. Its directional form evokes the archetype of a modern table lamp, while the gourd’s naturally weathered patina creates an imperfect, stone-like surface that preserves traces of the climate and conditions through which it grew. Designed as both a sculptural object and a source of warm accent light, the piece is especially suited for intimate spaces such as a bedroom, reading corner, or bookshelf.
