China Diabla speaks about identity, memory, and belonging. Inspired by a character from the Diablada dance, the figure wears the coat of arms of Peru on her chest and holds a heart made of flowers drawn from traditional Peruvian textiles. The mask and the girl’s face coexist as two parts of the same identity: what we inherit and what we make our own. Because traditions are not only worn or celebrated; they are also carried, with pride, in the heart.
