Golden Sky 1
Christopher Statham
oil pastel, acrylic,on canvas
My work explores the fleeting, emotional resonance of atmospheric shifts, capturing the sky not as a backdrop, but as a living canvas of light and energy. In this painting, a luminous yellow expanse gives way to sweeping formations of deep blues, magentas, and fiery golds, evoking the dramatic transition of twilight or dawn.
Through expressive textures and a high-contrast palette, I seek to translate the overwhelming intensity and beauty of natural phenomena into a deeply felt internal landscape. The interplay of brilliant warmth and cooling shadow reflects a moment of suspension—where time slows down and the sky becomes a mirror for human emotion.
