"Porcelain Hopes and Fears" explores the nostalgic, and sometimes unsettling world of childhood imagination. Dolls are never merely toys; they serve as a child's earliest mirrors. For young girls, these figures are a canvas for self-definition—vessels onto which they project their future dreams, identities, and understandings of the world. Yet, there is a delicate line between the comforting and the uncanny. Captured with rich textures and striking gazes, these silent figures evoke a bittersweet nostalgia. They remind us of the secret lives our toys lived when we turned our backs, carrying both the innocent hopes of who we wanted to become and the quiet, creepy fears of the unknown that linger just beneath the surface of youth.
