Slothus on the Half Shell
Victoria Aronoff
Pen and colored pencil
I feel like Botticelli's Venus on the Half Shell is the root of everyone's knowledge of art. It's iconic in that way. This summer, when I saw Slothus rise up out of the Atlantic Ocean just like Venus but a little grouchier, I thought, wow I have to draw her! She is an icon, a diva...but aren't all sloths? I think this would look great in a baroque style living room or a moodily dark study.

Artist Bio:
Victoria started Stupid Sloth Cards because she is always thinking about animals wearing clothes and because she is drawn to stuff that is stupid, ridiculous and cute (or all three). Without much talent or skill, she makes handmade cards, framed “art,” stickers, magnets and other useful/useless items, featuring animals wearing clothes and often using curse words. Her goal is to make herself and other people laugh, or at least chuckle slightly. She can be found on Instagram @stupidslothcards and at stupidslothcards.etsy.com or on her plant-based artisanal sloth farm.
