Acrylic paint, canvas, rattan frame
“New Yorker 2” captures the paradox of living in a city defined by individuality while constantly moving in unison with everyone else. The geometric shapes evoke the silhouettes of commuters, reduced to their most basic forms and the bold contrast between blue and white suggests both the individuality we carry and the sameness imposed by our shared routines. It challenges us to consider whether our identities are defined by who we are as individuals or by the environments and patterns we collectively inhabit. Perhaps the further we zoom out, the more we realize that beneath our differences, we are all just people navigating the same journey
