“What About Us” was inspired by the struggle for Black visibility, belonging and equality within America. Flite Robinson explores the tension between America’s promises and lived experiences, using rapper Juelz Santana wrapped in the flag alongside headlines and graffiti that demand recognition. Layered newspaper collage, expressive paint, stars, and crosses create an urgent, thought-provoking experience, making this piece a powerful focal point for a living room, office or community space.

Flite Robinson is a mixed-media artist from New Jersey who draws inspiration from Black culture, faith, fatherhood, and everyday experiences. Through layered collage, bold colors, and textured surfaces, his work explores identity, resilience, and the stories within our communities, bringing over 15 years of fashion design experience into his art.
